Jack Daniel's
Klek Shops, literally "squat shops", are a true Sofia icon.
During the heavy recession of the 1990s, basements were repurposed into small, cheap stores, where customers have to squat to make a purchase.
In 2023 Jack Daniel's launched a new flavour on the Bulgarian market — Tennessee Apple. And we wanted people to give it a shot.
The fresh twist on the iconic Jack Daniel's taste inspired us to put an unexpected spin on the local phenomena of squat shops.
We took an abandoned klek shop in the busy city centre and transformed it into:
A pop-up bar in which you squat empty-handed and rise with a shot or cocktail of the new Jack Daniel's Tennessee Apple.
The location
A main downtown street with heavy pedestrian traffic and a wide range of nightclubs and bars nearby.
The working hours
Thursday through Saturday, from 7 PM to midnight, perfectly timed to capture the party crowd.
